Summary: Sometimes all she can think to say is thank you, and all he can hope to do is offer her the same sentiment in return.

*Author’s Note*: Another cheesy little piece, this time even more abstract than some of the others, I think. I know my writing has always had a focus on describing emotion more than anything, and I worry that can get boring to read over and over again, so believe it or not I have actually tried shaking up my style a bit, but…inevitably it almost always ends up coming back to stuff like this. I just can’t think of any better way to communicate my love! Oh well, I’m sure with time better ideas will come. Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy!
_____

Sometimes she wished she could think of a way to thank him properly. It was a fruitless endeavor, one that almost always strung her along until she found herself going around in circles yet again. He’d already made a habit of always telling her that she did enough, that there wasn’t anything left to say, that he didn’t need anything else. But regardless of whether or not he needed it, she wanted to be able to give him something comparable to all he’d given her. He’d often tell her that she did more than he deserved just by offering him her love, and although hearing such words brought a fleeting sense of peace to her restless heart, she still couldn’t help questioning that judgement. On the flip side, she also couldn’t doubt it.

Summary: Nova let’s an unexpected compliment slip out without realizing it, and in the midst of trying to salvage her blunder Yuki can’t help but find the entire exchange endearing and amusing.

*Author’s Note*: This is so cheeeeeeeesy but that’s okay, that’s what selfship writing is for, right? Well, anyway, it’s my brand and I’m trying to get back into it a little lol. Just a comical little exchange between Nova and Yuki based on a line from one of my fave movies (I’ll let people who read it guess, although I’m sure most of you will instantly know what it is) because I was thinking about it in regard to Yuki and just couldn’t help myself. I hope you enjoy!

_____

From the very beginning she couldn’t help being captivated by his presence. She scolded herself for acting so foolishly after learning the truth of how he viewed himself, the kinds of things he’d struggled with for most of his life. Being revered often led to being lonely, and she never wanted to make him feel that way…but she also couldn’t keep herself from seeing him as extraordinary. Handsome, kind, willing to put up with her and all her anxieties and eccentricities. Even if all of that seemed to make for a pretty low bar, he was one of the only ones that’d ever been able to meet it, much less exceed it. He exceeded everything in her eyes, for himself and for her, and as much as she wanted to share such thoughts with him, she often lacked the means of how to communicate them without making him uncomfortable. At least, that was her impression, and making him uncomfortable was the last thing she wanted to do.

Summary: A simple question leads to a discussion she isn’t sure she’s ready to have, but that he’s determined to work through for her sake.

*Author’s Note*: Trigger warning for mentions of mental and emotional abuse, low self-esteem, the usual stuff. Title is very on the nose, but I don’t think that’s such a big deal. Just something I was thinking about writing ft. Yuki because he has self-worth and rejection issues I can identify with, although I don’t think I’ve been treated nearly as harshly as him. Spoiler warning, kind of, in that case too…and I hope you enjoy!

“What keeps you up at night?”

It was a sudden, unexpected question, but she couldn’t think of a reason not to answer it. “A lot of things. Why do you ask?”

The silver haired man shrugged, resting his head against the back of the couch as he fixed his gaze on the blank ceiling. “I guess I was just curious. You don’t have to answer if you don’t want to.”

Summary: Ayame makes Nova something special for her birthday, but he isn’t the only one interested in sharing the fruits of his talent as a gift.

*Author’s Note*: Lol puns!! But seriously, today’s my birthday, and I know I haven’t shut up about it but…idk, I think it’s kind of important. It’s just something I want to celebrate. I really struggled with this fic, and still feel like it’s a little boring because not a lot happens, but I can’t seem to shake my habit of writing long drawn out emotional monologues orz but there are a lot of little touches I like in this, and super subtle references that will only make sense if someone keeps in mind some important Ayame/Yuki bonding moments from the manga while reading this, which I don’t expect. It’s just fun for me to know they’re there and play around with my post-canon AU and its implications a bit. I think I’m close to hammering out the details I want, but that’s not what this fic is about so I’m not going to elaborate here. I just wanted to write some cute Yuki stuff lol. Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy! Oh yeah and the dress is this one that I would die for.
_____

Examining herself in the mirror, it was almost like she’d just stepped out of a fairytale. In her daily life, she thought it felt more like she’d stepped into one, or at least that’s how things had been since she’d met them. A stranger who happened to notice the real her had quickly become a true friend, and soon after opened the door to a world unlike anything she’d ever known or envisioned. Nova was fascinated by it, but also quite intimidated, which she supposed was only natural. One after another she became acquainted with the unique group of people that Kagura called her family, a term that was applied loosely, and that was overshadowed by a different, more exclusive connection that most of the individuals she was meeting happened to share. Things were different for them now, though, and Nova thought it best to avoid asking too many unnecessary questions. Probing into the past, a past that not everyone wanted to acknowledge or remember, wasn’t really her place.

Admiration

Summary: She’s always seen him as something special, and she knows that’s the last thing he’s ever wanted. But sometimes she just can’t seem to help herself when it comes to admiring the man she loves so much.

*Author’s Note*: Happy FB release day! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!! I’m losing it I cannot believe we’ve come this far. When the original rumor that a new and complete rendition of the series was being animated, I honestly didn’t know how to feel or react. It still seemed a bit like a dream, so surreal that this story that I’ve adored since childhood, that had a hand in shaping me as a person, would finally be coming to life again the way it was meant to be told. So here’s me gushing about the man I fell in love with from said story, and heads up there are serious ending spoilers for the plot because my ship verse takes place post canon. I still haven’t figured out all the logistics of this ship verse yet, but…I’ve been too busy, and also preoccupied with my own excitement and giddiness to really care lol. Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy!
_____

The café was quiet, or perhaps it was just a trick of her senses. She was a bit distracted at the moment, after all. Not entirely of her own volition, but she was the one that’d decided she was content to just sit across from this special person and admire him. The gentle kindness in his eyes that masked the deep-seated pain he’d been valiantly striving to overcome through the years. The glossy sheen of his hair, as silver and shimmering as a star in the night sky. At one time, he’d probably resented everything about his appearance. An unnatural hair color that served as a physical reminder of the chains he’d been bound by since birth. Chains he and everyone else that was trapped by them thought would never break, but rather just continue to tighten their chokehold indefinitely.
